Silver City Ghost Town in Bodfish, California
The town of Isabella is the Atlantis of the Kern River Valley. Once upon a time a town called Isabella sat beside the Kern River. Then a dam was built and the town drowned. There have been times during the last decade of drought, when the lake level was disastrously low, that Isabella rose from the dead at the center of the lake showing the tops of some original buildings. Fortunately, some buildings were saved before the deluge and reside, undead, at Silver City Ghost Town.
Silver City Ghost Town is a place where ghost towns live forever. Buildings rescued from old mining towns named Keyesville, Miracle, and Whiskey Flat, among others, are on display on the main street of Silver City Ghost Town.
