This is a continuation of my Virgin Anasazi series. In this installment we look at Mouse Tank in the Valley of Fire, Nevada.
The Virgin Anasazi were flood plain farmers along the Virgin river from around the years 1 to 1250 CE. I recorded the images they left on the rocks at numerous sites in order to gain a better understanding of which images were made by the Virgin Anasazi and which were made by the Paiute who colonized the same lands toward the end of the VA tenure. The Patayan and the Mojave also moved within the same landscapes so, again, my explorations were to begin to feel out which images were made by whom.
