Apparently this site has been studied since the 80s and the only time light comes in at all is during solstice sunrise. The light used to make a different kind of beam on the calendar. Perhaps earthquake or maybe even erosion may have changed the geometry of the site, but the exciting this is that the stone calendar still works to mark the solstice after hundreds of years! Beautiful. Ingenius, really. Ancient technology is so elegant.
My name is Faber and I’m 16 years old. I’ve been fascinated by pictographs and native life ever since I came across the diamond solstice cave in j tree while camping with my dad. Since then I’ve visited countless other sites all across California. I’ve been reading your blog for a while and I love how you analyze every little element at the sites you visit and your spiritual view on these sacred places.
I really appreciate you taking the time to offer encouragement ☺️ Have a great day!
