I like visiting cemeteries in old towns. This is one of my favorites from the off-the-beaten-path, abandoned cemetery within McArthur Burney Falls State Park. This headstone was for a young person who died in 1900. I feel that the family chose a spritely, modern (for the time) font to symbolize how young this man was. To me this stone enthusiastically celebrates his 16 years of life rather than lugubriously mourning his death.
