Have you ever wondered why you see me adventuring out on my own so much when I supposedly have a husband and children at home? The reason is this guy.
As a young man he went out and got himself a masters degree, then a career, then a family, and now he tirelessly works 12 to 16 hour days on tv and film production to support us. The last thing he wants to do when he gets home from work after midnight on a Friday night is wake up early on Saturday morning to go climb around and sleep in the wilderness. He enjoys those activities, but he also needs rest! What he does want to do is relax at home and see the kids during waking hours, sometimes for the first time all week. So I let him.
Conversely, when he is available to watch the kids the last thing I want to do is stay at home and spend more time cooking for and transporting and disciplining the kids, which is what I’ve been doing every day and night all week long. So we have this happy arrangement. He gets good face time with his sons and I get alone time with my favorite hobby.
Girls, it is awesome to have a man who is as excited for me to fulfill my dreams as I am. They do exist. Hold out for one. Just thought I’d take a moment to give credit where credit is due.
