Pigments & Blood

In the comments of one of my recent videos someone asked the question, “Was blood ever used for pigment in pictographs?”

I thought the topic of the origin of pigments was an interesting topic to dive into in a little more depth to shed light on both the source of various colors and the ritual significance of various pigment types.
