If this stone circle near Dos Cabeszas Spring has some kind of authentic native provenence, it has clearly been restored. I’ve seen older photos of it and the stones were not so carefully placed, nor were there letters (N, S, W, E) indicating the directions as there are now. It does have interesting features though. The spiral is made with white rocks and luminous quartz and the axis lines include red stones and bits of red pottery.
Nice capture of Sun with this layout. Is this used by native Indians?
Thanks. I can’t find any official information about this rock circle. Judging by its proximity to village sites and its inclusion if pottery sherds it could have been used by natives, but its also in kind of a high traffic area so its hard to say. I do know its been there a long time because I’ve seen older pictures of it.
Aha! Thanks for the info Angeline 🙂
